2022 South Carolina Immunization Champion Award Program Launch

Updated: Aug 14, 2022

The South Carolina Immunization Coalition is excited to launch the inaugural SC Immunization Champion Awards program in partnership with the Division of Immunization at SC DHEC to recognize and honor five individuals, groups, or organizations who are go

ing above and beyond in the Palmetto State to promote childhood, adolescent, and adult immunizations in their communities.

Of these 5 Champions, SCIC will select one nominee to join SC's roster of national CDC Immunization Champion Award winners that include Dr. Eliza Varadi, Pelican Pediatrics (2018) and Kimberly Nelson, SC Parents for Vaccines (2019).

Nominees may include health care professionals from any setting (e.g., schools, primary care, mobile vaccination), parents, statewide or community coalition members, educators, community partners, activists, and leaders.

Candidate nomination forms consist of a short narrative describing how the nominee meets the award criteria of leadership, collaboration, innovation, and/or advocacy in SC's field of immunization, highlighting how they go above and beyond to promote immunizations in their community, and the resulting impact of those efforts (up to 500 words).

The Award Selection committee will utilize a standardized scoring matrix to review narratives and select award recipients.
